Chef-kok Gordon Ramsay gaat op pad om noodlijdende restaurants in de Verenigde Staten te helpen hun geluk te keren. Ramsay onderzoekt de problemen waarmee elk etablissement wordt geconfronteerd, van onhygiënische koelkasten tot lui of onervaren personeel, en zoekt naar oplossingen. Met hulp van zijn team richt Ramsay elk eetcafé opnieuw in om het een frisse nieuwe look te geven en werkt hij het menu indien nodig bij. Het uiteindelijke doel van Ramsay is om de restaurants die hij bezoekt populair en winstgevend te maken, maar het is aan de restauranthouders om zijn advies op te volgen en van hun zakelijke nachtmerrie de Amerikaanse droom te maken.
