Beschrijving
1 mei 1945 - De Tweede Wereldoorlog woedt nog steeds: een groep nazi-officieren voert een gruwelijk ritueel uit waarbij ze de levens van degenen die in de oorlog zijn omgekomen als offers gebruiken. Dit ritueel was bedoeld om de Orde van de 13 Lansen op te roepen, een groep supermensen die de wereld volledig zouden moeten vernietigen. Niemand weet of het ritueel succesvol was of wat er met hen is gebeurd - het verhaal is eerder een legende geworden. Decennia later in Suwahara City: Ren Fujii wordt ontslagen uit het ziekenhuis nadat hij hersteld is van een ruzie met zijn vriend Shirou Yusa. Hij probeert in het reine te komen met wat er is gebeurd, maar hij wordt elke nacht achtervolgd door dezelfde droom: een guillotine, moordenaars die mensen achtervolgen en in het zwart geklede ridders die de moordenaars achtervolgen, evenals Shirou's woorden: 'Iedereen die in deze stad blijft, zal uiteindelijk zijn verstand verliezen.'
