He is the son of actors Michael de Mesa and Gina Alajar. Eigenmann began his career at the age of 11, starring in the television sitcom Family 1+3 from 1989 to 1993. He was nominated for Best Actor at the 22nd Gawad Urian Awards for his role in the 1998 gangster film Gangland.
