După cum sugerează și titlul, "Prima dragoste" este povestea unei iubiri născute în timpul adolescenței. Ceea ce face acest spectacol unic este structura temporală a episoadelor. Într-o trecere și venire între trecut și prezent, acea iubire este investigată în diferitele ei faze... de la început până în prezent. Chiar și atunci când povestea devine aparent confuză (din cauza lipsei de asemănare dintre actorii care interpretează protagoniștii ca tineri și ca adulți), drama își păstrează coerența.
