Beschrijving
Er zijn vele jaren verstreken sinds de mensheid op de rand van uitsterven werd gedreven door de plotselinge opkomst van de onbekende levensvormen Gadoll. De mensen die het overleefden, wonen nu in een 3000 meter hoog mobiel fort Deca-dence, gebouwd om zichzelf te beschermen tegen de Gadoll-dreiging. Inwoners van Deca-dence vallen in twee categorieën: Gears, krijgers die dagelijks tegen de Gadoll vechten, en Tankers, degenen zonder de vaardigheden om te vechten. Op een dag ontmoet Natsume, een tankermeisje dat ervan droomt een Gear te worden, de norse Kaburagi, een pantserreparateur van Deca-dence. Deze toevallige ontmoeting tussen de ogenschijnlijk twee tegenpolen, het meisje met een positieve instelling die haar dromen nooit opgeeft en de realist die de zijne heeft opgegeven, zal uiteindelijk de toekomstige koers van deze wereld doen wankelen.
