顧逸（沈月飾）在上海忙碌工作，日頭在雜誌社埋頭工作，晚上就在酒吧兼職做脫口秀（棟篤笑）女演員。她性格樂觀，個人沒有太大的追求，唯一的願望就是讓所有觀眾開心。某天，她發現坐在第一排的男觀眾梁代文（林一飾），無論她如何使出渾身解數，他始終面無表情，顧逸對此很好奇又感到挫敗，於是她決定要讓這位男觀眾笑出來，從而展開了他們的故事。後來得知梁代文是情感障礙患者，是一名「笑不出來」的觀眾，無意中結識顧逸後，搞笑女和冷漠男之間的趣味戀情開始萌芽。顧逸的樂觀幫助梁代文走出心靈的陰霾，開始學會而聆聽不同的聲音。而梁代文則處處陪伴顧逸，幫助她解決打工中的煩惱與困難，彼此相互療癒。透過脫口秀表演，顧逸直接抨擊生活中的不如意，以幽默的方式紓發都市青年在工作上的不滿，讓身處大都市的年輕人愉快，並且得到啟發。
