מאי היא גאון מתמטי בת 10 שמשרתת כ-"מונה" לשם מזימות הסחיטה של המאפיה הסינית. ללא מחשבים וללא עקבות נייר – היא שומרת את כל המספרים בראשה. לוק רייט הוא לוחם כלובים שמפוצץ קרב מכור והמאפיה הרוסית עושה ממנו דוגמה – הם רוצחים את אשתו ומאיימים להרוג כל אדם שאיתו הוא יוצר קשר. אך דברים גדולים מתחילים להתרחש בעיר, כשבוס הטריאד מופיע בניו יורק ומעניק למאי מספר סודי לזכור. בדרכה להשתמש במספר זה למטרה בלתי ידועה, מאי נחטפת מן הטריאדים על ידי המאפיה הרוסית שרוצים את המידע שיש כעת בראשה. מאי מצליחה להימלט ולהתקל בלוק שמחויב כעת להגן עליה.
