Overview
Sarja kertoo Yhdysvaltain vapaussodan aikaan toimivasta Amerikan ensimmäisestä vakoojarenkaasta. Tarinan keskipisteessä on maanviljelijä Abe Woodhull, joka asuu brittien miehittämällä Long Islandilla. Hän lyöttäytyy yhteen lapsuuden ystäviensä kanssa muodostaen Culper Ring -nimisen salaisista agenteista koostuvan ryhmän. Jokainen uroteko, raadollinen petos tai kohtalokas virhe jonka ystävykset tekevät heijastuu heitä ympäröivään maailmaan ja muuttaa historiaa. Culper Ring auttaa lopulta George Washingtonia kääntämään sodan kulun ja tulee samalla luoneeksi pohjan modernille vakoilijoiden ammattikunnalle.
