Overview
Chicago Cabrini-Greeni linnajaos on ajast aega hirmutatud inimesi linnalegend üleloomulikust tapjast, kel ühe käe asemel konks ning keda on lihtne välja kutsuda, öeldes peeglisse vaadates viis korda ta nime: Candyman. Tänapäeval, kümmekond aastat pärast kurikuulsate kortermajade lammutamist on Cabrini-Green tundmatuseni muutunud, saades koduks noortele ja edukatele. Sinna kolib ka maalikunstnik Anthony McCoy (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) koos oma galeriidirektorist elukaaslase Briannaga (Teyonah Parris). Anthony karjäär seisab juba mõnda aega paigal ning inspiratsiooni otsides satub ta Candymani legendile. Elupõline kohalik William Burke (Colman Domingo) jutustab talle traagilisest vägivaldsest vahejuhtumist, mis pani aluse Candymanile. Lootuses säilitada oma staatust Chicago kunstimaailmas, sukeldub Anthony sügavale juhtunu võigastesse üksikasjadesse, avades sellega tahtmatult ukse keerukale minevikule, mis päästab valla hirmutava vägivallalaine ning seab ohtu tema enda vaimse tervise.
