Handlung

„Rectify“ zeigt das Leben des mutmaßlichen Mörders Daniel Holden, der 19 Jahre lang unschuldig im Gefängnis von Georgia saß und nun aufgrund von entlastenden DNA-Beweisen auf freien Fuß gesetzt wird. Als er 18 Jahre alt war, soll er angeblich ein 16-jähriges Mädchen brutal ermordet haben. Die Rückkehr zu seiner Familie fällt herzlich aus, doch der Großteil der Einwohner seiner Heimatstadt glaubt immer noch fest an seine Schuld. Für Daniel beginnt eine schwere Zeit auf dem Weg, wieder ein normales Leben führen zu können …
