Handlung
25 Jahre nach dem Ausbruch eines verheerenden Krieges zwischen den Menschen und einer Armee von Engeln. Erzengel Michael (Tom Wisdom) hatte einer Gruppe von Menschen beim Überleben geholfen. Die haben das ehemalige Las Vegas zur neuen Festungsstadt Vega ausgebaut. Es ist eine der wenigen Enklaven der Menschheit, die nach den Dekaden des Krieges noch übrig sind. In der Stadt ringen zwei mächtige Familien um die Vorherrschaft – auf der einen Seite der „Kriegsheld“ General Edward Riesen (Alan Dale), auf der anderen Seite der durchtriebene David Whele (Anthony Head, „Buffy – Im Bann der Dämonen“), ein ehemaliger Fernsehprediger. Auch zu anderen Enklaven der Menschheit gibt es Kontakte, die für politischen Zündstoff sorgen. Unterdessen findet der junge, rebellischer Soldat (Christopher Egan) heraus, dass er der „Auserwählte“ ist, um die Menschheit zu retten. Derweil lauern vor den Toren der Stadt Gabriel und seine Scharen – niedere Engel, die in die Körper von Menschen fahren (müssen), um auf der Erde existieren zu können.

In this transformed post--apocalyptic future an army of lower angels, assembled by the archangel Gabriel, has waged a war of possession against mankind. The archangel Michael, turning against his own kind, has chosen to side with humanity against Gabriel. Season 2 sees Alex and Michael facing new threats, including a mysterious city called New Delphi and the machinations of higher angels. The season also explores the consequences of a past war and the angels' motivations for fighting.
