Handlung

Gabimaru war einst der stärkste Shinobi – nun erwartet ihn in der Todeszelle sein ultimatives Ende. Durch eine glückliche Fügung wird ihm von der Scharfrichterin Sagiri eine zweite Chance gewährt: Zusammen mit anderen Todeskandidaten soll er im Wettlauf das sogenannte Lebenselixier auf einer paradiesischen Insel ausfindig machen, um einen Freispruch von seinen erbarmungslosen Gräueltaten zu erwirken. Das idyllische Eiland offenbart sich jedoch schon bald als Hölle auf Erden, denn Leichen dienen als Dünger für den fruchtbaren Boden und nähren allerlei andersartige Kreaturen. Kann es Gabimaru gelingen, das Elixier in seinen Besitz zu bringen und dieser unerbittlichen Todesfalle, die bisher niemanden freigab, zu entfliehen?

    Gabimaru, a ninja member of a clan of assassins, is sentenced to death. He claims to have nothing to tie him to life, yet no method of execution manages to end his life. His meeting with Sagiri Yamada Asaemon, who seems to be investigating him, will change everything.

    The condemned criminals are gathered on the beach to prepare for the expedition to Shinsenkyo, but first, they must reduce their numbers.
