Overview
Torn je televizijska drama koja govori o inspektoru Tomu Tornu, čiji lik je osmislio pisac krimi-romana Mark Bilingem. U glavnoj ulozi je Dejvid Morisi, koji je ujedno i izvršni producent. Serija je snimljena na čudan način. Prilikom snimanja filma na Novom Zelandu, Mirisi je čitao knjigu, koja mu se svidela i potražio je pisca na internetu. Čitajući sekciju sa pitanjima i odgovorima, naišao je na izjavu pisca da bi, ukoliko ikad bude sniman film prema knjizi, voleo da u naslovnoj ulozi vidi samog Dejvida Morisija. Prve tri epizode čine jednu celinu – Spavalica. Tri žene su nađene mrtve. Ubica je kod njih izazvao moždani udar. Četvrta žrtva je još uvek živa, i možda će moći da identifikuje napadača, samo što ona ne može komunicirati jer je upala u sindrom zaključanosti. Istražujući, inspektor Tom Torn zaključuje da je ubicina namera bila da ostavi žrtve onesposobljene, a ne mrtve…

Three women are found murdered, their killer having induced them into having strokes. A fourth is still alive, and may be able to identify her assailant, except she is unable to communicate as she has been left with locked-in syndrome. DI Tom Thorne concludes that it was the killer's intention to leave his victims incapacitated, not dead.
